The threshold of one degree was exceeded for the first time in modern history. Scientists agree that the cause lies in human activity — burning of oil, gas and coal — that leads to greenhouse effect that causes an increase in average temperature. Experts note that between and , the most powerful increase in greenhouse gas emissions over the past 30 years has been observed. According to the World Meteorological Organization, in , their concentration in the atmosphere reached a record high level. This is not a visible threat, but quite real. This means an increase in global temperatures, an increase in the number of extreme weather events, such as floods, melting ice, rising sea level and increasing the acidity of the oceans.

If countries do not begin to seriously deal with the problem of environmental protection, by the temperature on the planet can rise by 3. Climatologists warn: irreversible consequences for the ecology will come even with a warming of more than 2° C. In order to draw maximum attention to climate problems, the UN has attracted not only politicians and scientists, but also celebrities, to the debate. The climatic zones will shift, the weather changes will become more severe severe frosts, followed by sudden thaws in winter, an increase in the number of abnormally hot days in summer. The frequency and strength of abnormal phenomena such as droughts and floods will increase.

The connection between climate change and the emergence of natural disasters was proved by American scientists who discovered traces of warming in the study of tropical cyclones in the Pacific, unusually high summer temperatures in Europe, China, South Korea and Argentina, and forest fires in the US state of California. Climate change has also catalyzed drought in Africa and the Middle East, snowstorms in Nepal and torrential downpours that have caused floods in Canada and New Zealand. Some countries due to increased humidity and high average temperature by may become unsuitable for life.

According to a study by American scientists, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, Bahrain, the United Arab Emirates and other countries of the Middle East are at risk. According to the calculations of climatologists, at the current rate of growth of greenhouse gas emissions by the average air temperature in the countries of the Persian Gulf can reach ° C. This will make the territories unsuitable for people. An exception may be large megacities with a developed air conditioning system. But people will be able to leave the house only at night. According to some scientists, we are in the middle of the sixth in the history of the Earth mass extinction of species. And this time this process is caused by human actions. If climate warming does not stop, many ecosystems, species of living beings that they contain, will become less diverse, less saturated.

UN experts warn that warming will negatively affect yields, especially in the underdeveloped countries of Africa, Asia and Latin America, which will lead to food problems. According to scientists, by the number of people facing the threat of hunger can increase by million people. Another important consequence of climate change may be a shortage of drinking water. In regions with arid climate Central Asia, the Mediterranean, South Africa, Australia, etc. Hunger, water scarcity, and insect migration can lead to an increase in epidemics and the spread of tropical diseases such as malaria in the northern regions.

One of the most tangible consequences of climate warming is likely to be the melting of glaciers and an increase in the level of the World Ocean. But, they affect every individual in one way or another. No person is spared. New surprising climatic events aren't surprising anymore. The Earth is changing is a sure fact. Climate change is real and there is no argument for confirming its existence. If not addressed with immediate actions, climate change may result in an irreversible problem. The traces of climate change can be noted to begin right from the onset of the industrial revolution. The pacing of the factories for mass-scale production of goods resulted in the extensive use of raw materials. These raw materials now being interconverted to finished goods showed great potential for profit-making and thus, these forms of businesses were adopted rapidly throughout the world.

European countries indulged in such activities on a global scale. The emission from the companies and the wastes thrown out result in the accumulation of hazardous materials and chemicals in the environment. These waste products got circulated and established a flow of motion thus, spreading across the planet. The poisonous gasses in the air through the automotive industry are a problem that cannot be ignored. Eventually, the two world wars and the wars that followed after them also damaged the environment in serious ways. The nuclear weapons used resulted in the fallout of radioactivity in the atmosphere permanently. Considering all such observations we can state that climate change began in the mid-nineteenth century and gradually increased over every decade.

Climate change is also a natural phenomenon but is majorly influenced by human activities. Climate change is a naturally occurring process. It existed well before humanity was born. However, the natural processes were much more balanced and helped nature to maintain a systematic balance in the atmosphere. Some of the natural processes that cause climate change are volcanoes, forest fires, melting of glaciers - also called permafrost melting, and forest fires. When volcanoes erupt, they throw out enormous amounts of ash and gasses in the air along with molten lava. The ashes result in an increase in dust in the air and poisonous games like sulfur dioxide and carbon monoxide affect the supply of pure oxygen in the air.

Forest fires cause the destruction of entire forests including the wildlife and thus degrade the biodiversity. They also cause the build-up of ash and hazardous gasses in the air. The melting of ancient ice in the polar regions releases a huge amount of carbon monoxide which is a major threat to global warming. It also releases viruses from the ancient era that were dormant and trapped in the ice through melting. It is being seen that the release of certain gasses in the air is a major cause of climate change. Undoubtedly, human beings are becoming the main reason for the climate change scenario. The population burst is to blame as the primary cause. The rapidly increasing population causes a great strain on the resources being used and thus resulting in more and more use of the natural resources.

Eventually, more and more goods and services are being produced and thus, resulting in more and more pollution. The use of large-scale production factories, improper management of waste, and overuse of material needs to be alerted to limit the impact on climate. Vehicular emissions contribute to more than 60 percent of air pollution alone. Humans, despite being aware of the problems, are ignorant about solving them. We do not react unless and until the problem is severe which is our behavioral flaw. The control measures are well researched by global scientists and adequate steps are also suggested to every nation.

The steps are needed to be followed in a timely manner and the goals if met in time will result in a better future.

Climate change is a huge problem that the planet earth is currently facing. From the changes of weather patterns, melting of the icebergs to the extinction of species, the phenomena need an urgent address. This paper researches on climate change and the views surrounding them. The evidence of the drastic climate change is seen in the scientific conclusions given. An example is the greenhouse effect. Greenhouse gases are one of the factors that occur naturally, and it determines the survival of humans and millions of other living things. Through keeping and reflecting the sun's warmth into the atmosphere, the greenhouse effect is making the earth conducive to live. Hence when the population, economies, and living standards grow, the cumulative level of greenhouse gas emission also grow drastically.

Solar variability if one of the factor which have been found out to have played a significant role in the past climate changes in that a decrease in solar activity coupled increased volcanic activities helping in triggering little ice age, in other several evidence lines it shows that current global warming is not explained by changes in the energy from the sun rays. Climate change is affecting the globe and needs an urgent address before more damage is done. Arguments of opposing views. The matter of climate change has two sides. The two sides of the cases are views that find useful in the changing climate and has an outlook of a better world.

The views, however, faces criticism, from a section of scientists who believes that the adverse weather changes are threatening the future of the world. There are opposing views on the matter. A section of the industries is yet to comply with the regulations on the production of harmful gases to the atmosphere. Human activity is the leading cause of pollution o0f the environment, a factor that triggers climate change. The industries are blamed because of the emission of more carbon dioxide, which is absorbed into the water. There is a concern that the seas and ocean absorb at least 2 billion tonnes of the gas. Some multi-national companies are ignoring this report. Views that increased carbon dioxide has a lot of benefits to the agricultural communities of the world.

The pictures are that the gas is essential for the growth of the plants. The cold poles which are always extremely cold and uninhabitable by the elderly and the sick during winter, are becoming warmer. Another opposing view on climate change is that the green forests are likely to be even greener. Such vegetation growth will restore rainforests such as amazon. There will be increased plankton biomass in several parts of the ocean providing enough food for the fish. The views are both weak and strong. The adverse effects of all these are more than the benefits. Carbon dioxide will affect the presence of oxygen, which is also essential for the thriving of plants and animals Ghosh, The rising water levels due to the presence of the gas will lead to floods. The warmer winters will mean that the people who were not at risk of getting infected with malaria are vulnerable.

The vulnerability is caused by the tendency of the disease-causing insects to migrate to warmer regions. Once the mosquitoes breed in the newer location, the number of casualties might be significant and devastating. The adverse climate change has a positive impact on the growth of the rainforests but has adverse effects too. The growth of weak oxygen zones at the oceans might lead to contamination of the beaches. There will be increased forest fires and the death of animals. The best view is the view that encourages combating climate change. People need to adopt lifestyle changes that ensure that the environment is guarded against pollution. The melting icebergs is a threat to the polar bears, who thrive on the ice. The melting ice is a threat to humanity because of the increasing volumes of water in the oceans.

Constant floods and tornadoes are making the seashore unsafe for human settlement. In conclusion, human activity is the leading cause of global warming, which is the most significant aspect of climate change. The industries should comply with the directives on control of gases released to the environment. There should be the least deforestation since forests are water catchment areas. Alternative forms of fuel should be innovated to replace fossil fuels. The world will be a better place with the least changed weather patterns. Dessler, A.
