India celebrates the holiday by showcasing the country's military prowess and cultural diversity. It demonstrates the diversity of our country in the real world. Many schools take part in these parades, which are held in numerous cities. It's entertaining to watch the adults and children work so hard. The military band in New Delhi plays the national anthem after a gun salute and the flag is hoisted by the president of India. Amidst the joy and celebration, we shouldn't overlook the struggle for freedom of our freedom fighters. India finally achieved independence from British Rule on August 15, , after many years of struggle by our valiant freedom fighters.

On January 26, , the Indian government proclaimed India to be the Democratic Republic, about two and a half years after adopting its own Constitution. The declaration of India as the Sovereign Democratic Republic prompted its citizens to observe Republic Day on January 26 every year as a way of remembering this momentous occasion. Republic Day marks the remembrance of the day when the constitution of India came into force. The importance of this day could not be ignored as this was the day when India became a republic and where the government is for the people, of the people, and by the people. Celebrating Republic Day every year is a great honor for the people living in India as well as abroad.

It is a day of great importance and is celebrated by the people with great joy and enthusiasm by organizing and participating in various events. People wait for this day eagerly to be part of its great celebration. All over India, there is a significant celebration planned for the state capitals and the national capital, New Delhi. The National Anthem is sung before the President of India hoists the National Flag at Rajpath in New Delhi to begin the celebration. Following this, there will be an Indian Armed Forces parade, state-by-state "Jhankis," a march-past, the presentation of awards, etc. On this day, the air is filled with the scent of patriotism and we can hear the sound of patriotic songs and the national flag flying high everywhere.

Students of schools and colleges are very keen to celebrate this event and start the preparation around a month before. Almost every Indian citizen gets ready early in the morning to watch the celebration and parade at Rajpath, New Delhi on their television. A national flag flying high on every house is very common on this day to celebrate this national festival with a sense of nationalism and togetherness. However, Republic Day is not the only day when we should show our patriotism towards our nation instead it should be showcased in our daily routine. The day honours India's constitution as an independent nation. Schools and colleges hoist the national flag on Republic Day. Cultural events celebrating India's struggle for independence are organised across the country. The President of India hoists the national flag at India Gate in New Delhi. In New Delhi, the most prestigious parade takes place on Rajpath. An Indian President conducts the parade, which is coordinated by the Ministry of Defence. The event not only displays India's military prowess but also promotes its diverse culture. In addition, the event pays tribute to those who have sacrificed their lives for the country. India's Prime Minister honours the martyrs by placing a ringlet at India Gate's Amar Jawan Jyoti.

The official end to the Republic Day celebrations is Beating the Retreat, which takes place after all of the celebrations are over. From 26th to 29th, the government buildings are beautifully lit in glittering lights. On January 29, the third day after Republic Day, the beating retreat ceremony is held. During the Drummer's Call, drummers perform solo performances. The bands march back playing the popular martial tune, Saare Jahan Se Achcha.
